This is Geneva
Geneva is located in southwestern Switzerland, in the French-speaking part of the country. With its location on Lake Geneva and its many attractions, the city is a popular vacation destination. It is also home to the ICRC, CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, and the European headquarters of the UN.
Discover Geneva
Start your tour of discovery in the old town. Of course, a trip to the lake with a view of the Jet d'Eau is a must. The sculpture in front of the UN building, the Broken Chair, is also a popular destination. The Palais des Nations houses the European headquarters of the United Nations. Some of its rooms are open to the public. Fancy a break in nature? The Parc des Bastions is a beautiful park in the heart of Geneva.
Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) and Jet d'Eau
Admire the Jet d'Eau from the shores of Lake Geneva. The spectacular water fountain shoots 140 meters into the air and is the symbol of Geneva. If you feel like swimming, the Bains des Pâquis are a good choice. Enjoy the magnificent view of the surrounding mountains on a boat tour.
Geneva's Old Town
The largest historic old town in Switzerland is dominated by St. Peter's Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint Pierre). Enjoy a fantastic view of the city from the church tower. Stroll through historic neighborhoods with beautiful alleys and visit the oldest house in the city, the Maison Tavel. And last but not least, be sure to visit the many cafés and boutiques in the old town.
